Born in 1973 in Zug, Sophie Heldman attended Tisch School of the Arts (New York University). Since 1995 she worked as assistant director for advertising and fiction films. She received degree from the DFFB(Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin) in 2005. Colours in the Dark  is her first feature film as director.

An elderly couple arrives at the end of their lives. The two 74-year-old protagonists take the liberty of making their own decisions concerning life and death. They stage their demise exactly as they staged their lives. After fifty years spent together, they don’t go because they have to, but because they want to.
